The Slovak Paradise National Park Authority and the Mountain Rescue Service advise visitors of the still persistent winter conditions in the national park. Although spring has already arrived in the city, the situation is different in gorges and canyons. There is a thick layer of snow and ice on the hiking trails. When the snow melts quickly, the water level in the gorges increases, so it is necessary to take into account that you will not cross the gorge with dry feet. In many places you will struggle with slippery icy sidewalks. We therefore recommend sturdy high waterproof shoes for gorges, anti-slip crampoons for icy sections and it is good to take dry clothes in need of change.
