In the territory of the national park, visitors can only walk on hiking and nature trails and in places reserved for the movement of visitors off the hiking and nature trails, and only from one hour after sunrise to an hour before sunset.

In the built-up area of villages and in designated recreation center in the National Park: Košiarny Briežok, Čingov, Letanovský mill, Podlesok, Kláštorisko, Dobšinská ice cave, Stratenská píla, Dedinky, Dobšinská Maša, Hrabušice - Píla, Mlynky - Biele Vody is permissible movement even outside the marked hiking trails without a time limit.

Dogs in the national park are allowed only on leash. Dogs cannot cross the ladders in the gorges.

Appropriately equipped hiker:

  • solid shoes – ideally with a Vibram sole,
  • suitable clothing,
  • raincoat, map,
  • bottle of water or tea,
  • mobile phone to call for help,
  • torch or forehead lamp,
  • first aid kit,
  • mountain insurance.
